Biography of W.E.B Du Bois

Born: February 23, 1868, In Great Barrington Massachusetts

-Parents' names are Mary Silvina Burghardt Du Bois and Alfred Du Bois. His mother family was a free African American family in Massachusetts. His father ended up leaving his mother to raise W.E.B Du Bois by herself. He grown up in a well-known white neighborhood. He had no brothers or sisters; he was an only child. 

-Growing up in Great Barrington Massachusetts, Du Bois dealt with a lot of racism. This influenced him to start writing and becoming a activist to African American. 

- Cofounder of NAACP

- Involved in Niagara Movement

- W.E.B Du Bois wanted to fight discrimination and oppression of African Americans, and his writing help other understand.
